Happy October, aka “beginning of Q4”, aka “Spooky season.” It’s one of my favorite times of the year: the weather is crisp and cool, the squirrels have pumpkins with faces to snack on well before Halloween even arrives, turtlenecks in public are more acceptable, and there are free domains.
Yes, that’s right, free domains. A couple of weeks ago, we launched Playlists – a creative and fun way to curate and share your favorite Glitch apps with the world. To celebrate curation on Glitch and the importance of creators being able to represent and express themselves on the Web, we partnered with Google Registry to give out 50 domains each week in October to our community’s greatest curators - which could include you! Submit a playlist through this form for a chance at getting a free domain to claim your own wonderful space on the Web.
Keep scrolling to discover the rad apps and playlists the Glitch community created last month, I hope they inspire you to create and curate, too. 🎃🎸
See you on glitch.com!

PS. I want to give a shout out to n1ckfg for responding to last month’s newsletter to let me know about their app ~lightningloops. It’s a multiplayer draw-to-make-sound experience made with Node, Three.js, Magenta.js, and a training set of 164 MIDI files of their piano playing – some dating back to the 90s!

...and if you need some Machine Learning inspiration, the playlist to check out is monolesan’s AI and Creativity. Her apps display the fun and surreal intersection of body movement and machine learning, with apps that disappear as you blink, punish you for poor posture, and more.
Looking to go super low-res? aTylerRobertson’s Favicon Adventures show you different ways to take advantage of SVGs in the app Favicon, including a chat app that I will be moving Glitch HQ to next time Slack is down.
