In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a seamless water ripple texture in Photoshop. I will explain everything in so much detail that everyone can create the texture, even those who have just opened Photoshop for the first time.

1. How to Start Creating a Water Texture
First, create a new file. Go to File > New and set the Width and Height to 3000 px and the Resolution to 72 px/in.
2. How to Create a Water Ripple Texture
Step 1
In this section we are going to create a water ripple texture. Go to Layer > New > Layer to create a new layer and name it Temp.
Step 2
Now press D on your keyboard to reset the swatches. Then, go to Filter > Render > Clouds.
Step 3
Go to Filter > Render > Difference Clouds.
Step 4
Now press Control-I on your keyboard to invert this layer's colors.
Step 5
Go to Filter > Distort > Ripple and set the Amount to 100% and Size to Large.
Step 6
Now go to Filter > Distort > Wave and use the settings below:
Step 7
Go to Select > Color Range, and set the Select to Highlights, Fuzziness to 10, and Range to 255.
Step 8
Now go to Select > Select and Mask and set the Smooth to 100, Feather to 0 px, Contrast to 50%, and Shift Edge to 25%.
Step 9
Press Control-J on your keyboard to create a new layer using the selection. Then, Right-click on this layer, choose Blending Options, select the Color Overlay style, and set the Blend Mode to Normal, Color to #ffffff, and Opacity to 100%. Name this layer Texture.
Step 10
Now select the Temp layer and press Delete on your keyboard to delete this layer. Then, set the foreground color to #00bbcc, select the Background layer, go to Edit > Fill, and set the Contents to Foreground Color, Mode to Normal, and Opacity to 100%.
Step 11
Select the Texture layer, and press Control-Alt-Shift-E on your keyboard to make a screenshot. Then, set the foreground color to #00bbcc, go to Filter > Filter Gallery > Sketch > Stamp, and set the Light/Dark Balance to 48 and Smoothness to 5. Name this layer Stamp.
3. How to Make the Water Texture Seamless
Step 1
In this section, we are going to make the water texture seamless, so you can use it to create a water ripple pattern. Go to Filter > Other > Offset, and set the Horizontal and Vertical values to 500 px.
Step 2
Now, using the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M), make a selection around the texture to join the edges as shown below:
Step 3
Go to Edit > Fill and set the Contents to Content-Aware, Mode to Normal, and Opacity to 100%.
