What You'll Need
To recreate the design above, you will need the following resources:
1. How to Start Creating a Honey Text Effect
First, create a new file. Go to File > New and set the Width to 2340 px, Height to 1560 px and Resolution to 72 px/in.
2. How to Create the Honey Effect Photoshop Background
Step 1
In this section, we are going to create the honey effect Photoshop background. Go to File > Place Embedded, select the photo from the link, and click Place. Then, set the Width and Height to 215%, and position the photo as shown below. Change the Opacity of this layer to 50% and name it Background Photo.
Step 2
Now go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Gradient Fill to create a new gradient fill layer, name it Background Color, and use the settings below:
Step 3
Change the Opacity of this layer to 85%.
3. How to Create the Honey Text Effect Base
Step 1
In this section, we are going to create the honey text effect base. Choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), and set the font to Fruity Smoothie, font style to Bold, size to 620 px, alignment to Center, and color to #000000
. You can experiment with using a honey drip font to create honey dripping letters. Then, click anywhere inside the canvas, type "Honey", and center the text with the canvas. Name this layer Base.
Step 2
Now Right-click on this layer and choose Blending Options. Then, select and check the Bevel & Emboss effect and use the settings below:
Step 3
Select and check the Gradient Overlay effect and use the settings below:
Step 4
Now change the Fill of this layer to 0%, and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, Right-click on this new layer and choose Blending Options. Uncheck the Gradient Overlay effect, select the Bevel & Emboss effect, and use the settings below:
Step 5
Name this layer Fill_1 and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below the Fill_1 layer in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Uncheck the Bevel & Emboss effect, select and check the Satin effect, and use the settings below:
Step 6
Now name this layer Fill_2, and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below the Fill_2 in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Select the Satin effect and use the settings below:
Step 7
Name this layer Fill_3.
4. How to Add Shadow to the Honey Text Effect
Step 1
In this section, we are going to add a shadow to the honey text effect. Press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate the Fill_3 layer, and drag this new layer just below the Base layer in the Layers panel. Then, Right-click on it and choose Blending Options. Uncheck the Satin effect, select and check the Drop Shadow effect, and use the settings below:
Step 2
Now name this layer Shadow_1 and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below Shadow_1 in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Select the Drop Shadow effect and use the settings below:
Step 3
Name this layer Shadow_2 and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below the Shadow_2 in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Select the Drop Shadow effect and use the settings below:
Step 4
Now name this layer Shadow_3.
5. How to Add a Glow to the Honey Text Effect
Step 1
In this section, we are going to add a glow to the honey text effect. Press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate the Shadow_3 layer, and drag this new layer just below the Base layer in the Layers panel. Then, Right-click on it and choose Blending Options. Uncheck the Drop Shadow effect, select and check the Inner Glow effect, and use the settings below:
Step 2
Now name this layer Glow.
6. How to Add Reflections to the Honey Text Effect
Step 1
In this section, we are going to add reflections to the honey text effect. Press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate the Glow layer, and drag this new layer to the top of the layers in the Layers panel. Then, Right-click on it and choose Blending Options. Uncheck the Inner Glow effect, select and check the Bevel & Emboss effect, and use the settings below:
Step 2
Now name this layer Reflections_1 and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below the Reflections_1 layer in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Select the Bevel & Emboss effect and use the settings below:
Step 3
Name this layer Reflections_2 and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below the Reflections_2 layer in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Select the Bevel & Emboss effect and use the settings below:
Step 4
Now name this layer Reflection_3 and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below the Reflections_3 layer in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Select the Bevel & Emboss effect and use the settings below:
Step 5
Name this layer Reflections_4 and press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate it. Then, drag this new layer just below the Reflections_4 layer in the Layers panel, Right-click on it, and choose Blending Options. Select the Bevel & Emboss effect and use the settings below:
Step 6
Now name this layer Reflections_5.
7. How to Soften the Edges of the Honey Text
Step 1
In this section, we are going to soften the edges of the text effect. Press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate the Reflections_5 layer, and drag this new layer to the top of the layers in the Layers panel. Then, Right-click on it and choose Blending Options. Uncheck the Bevel & Emboss effect, select and check the Inner Glow effect, and use the settings below:
Step 2
Now name this layer Edge Softening.
8. How to Add Bubbles to the Honey Text Effect
Step 1
In this section, we are going to add bubbles to the honey text effect. Press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate the Edge Softening layer, and drag this new layer to the top of the layers in the Layers panel. Then, Right-click on it and choose Blending Options. Uncheck the Inner Glow effect, select and check the Pattern Overlay effect, and use the settings below:
Step 2
Now Control-click on this layer thumbnail to make a selection of this layer. Then, go to Select > Modify Contract, and set the Contract By to 10 px, and go to Select > Modify > Feather, and set the Feather Radius to 15 px. After that, go to Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal Selection to add a layer mask that reveals the selected area of the layer and hides the rest.
Step 3
Name this layer Bubbles.
