Sometimes, the WordPress redirect plugin won’t pick up on the page redirect you need. Maybe you want your WordPress site to redirect one post to another or you want to redirect a URL on your domain to a different domain.
Why Not Use Redirects?
When you change the URL of a page, it is sometimes easy to forget to go back and update internal links to point to this new location, especially when you have put redirects in place. These redirects are unnecessary, given that you have full control to repoint internal links.
Redirect a Post or URL in WordPress
In this case, you’ll need to set up a manual redirect without a plugin in WordPress. I’m going to guide you on how to do it with the Redirection plugin.
After installing the plugin, Go to Tools > Redirection and scroll down to the Add new redirection section.
Ultimately, click the Add Redirect button and your redirect will be executed to the list of redirects.
