I have an ASUS Tuf FX-705DT laptop. I dual booted fedora 35 alongside Windows 10 recently, and I was having a audio issue.
The issue was that neither the internal speakers nor the mic worked. There was no audio, and the system had the volume option disabled.
I found the fix here, in a stackoverflow answer: https://askubuntu.com/a/1277167
I basically created a file called /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
, with the text: options snd-hda-intel model=asus-tuf
.
I still don't understand what the actual issue was or what this file or the text mean. I hope to understand one day. But until then, this solution will have to do
