Summary: A survey of 676 UX professionals explores how well their UX teams are selecting new team members while trying to retain the ones they have.
The Great Resignation is sweeping through the country. People have been resigning from their positions in record numbers since the spring of 2021. How has this historic phenomenon affected UX teams? What are they doing to evaluate and hire new talent, and how are they trying to keep their existing talent?
We surveyed 676 UX professionals and asked questions about their role, UX team, and approaches to hiring and retaining employees. Besides multiple-choice questions, the survey included an open-ended question on what works well and doesn't with hiring and retention for their UX team. Participants shared 305 comments; themes across these were identified using thematic analysis .
