Today, we are excited to announce the addition of Verizon to the list of over 400 cellular networks that devices using Super SIM can connect to. Whether monitoring for compliance of fishing activities in the West, controlling irrigation in Oklahoma, or connecting EV chargers on the East Coast, reliable cellular connectivity is critical for the success of many IoT solutions. You can now seamlessly access all 3 major US carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon – using a single SIM, making it simpler to deploy your IoT devices nearly anywhere in the United States with confidence.

Sprawling networks, yet unequal coverage at the peripheries

With each having over 100 million subscribers and each claiming to cover 99% of the US population, it’s no doubt that all major US carriers have wide sprawling networks. However, as you move further away from urban city centers and as twelve lane freeways give way to suburban neighborhoods or miles of farmland, coverage can change significantly. One carrier may offer clearly superior – if not exclusive – coverage. By having Super SIM automatically connect to any of the 3 major US carriers without requiring any manual intervention, you don’t have to worry about maintaining multiple versions – one for each connectivity provider – or connectivity contracts to make sure that your customers have access to the network they need.

Importance of redundancy

Even if your customers aren’t in more remote parts of the United States, you can benefit from the additional redundancy you get from Super SIM now offering Verizon as well. Outages are inevitable; if you can only connect to one network, your devices may be offline for hours (or longer) if something goes wrong with the nearby towers or the local data center. The redundant access to multiple networks means your devices can reconnect within seconds or minutes of something going wrong with one of the other networks.

Getting Started

Super SIM lets you configure Network Access Profiles for your SIM fleets. To begin accessing Verizon today as an existing customer, simply add it to the list of networks enabled by your Network Access Profile.

Taking Greater Control

Super SIM offers finer control over your connectivity options. You can change which network your IoT devices prioritize by writing to a particular configuration file on the SIM. This lets you prioritize Verizon over the other US networks if you know your devices will be deployed in a region where Verizon’s coverage is superior but you still want to have AT&T and T-Mobile available for redundancy.
