1. How to Create an Oktoberfest Flyer Background
Step 1

Step 2
Create a New Color Swatch in the Swatches panel. Click Add, then Done.
Step 3
Select the Rectangle Tool (M) and Fill the background with the gold swatch.
Step 4
Open the Vintage Book Textures AI file in Adobe Illustrator. Copy (Command-C) and Paste (Command-V) the third texture in the second row into the InDesign document. Resize it so that it covers the gold background.
Step 5
Select the texture layer and go to Object > Effects > Transparency. Change the Mode to Darken and the Opacity to 10%.
Step 6
Open the Painted Rhombs file in Illustrator. Select the black rhombus and Copy and Paste it into the InDesign document. Change the layer Mode to Screen, with an Opacity of 23%.
2. How to Choose the Best Fonts for an Oktoberfest Invite
Choosing the right Oktoberfest fonts for your project can be a daunting task. With so many options available, it can be hard to decide which font is the best fit for your project. A key tip when selecting the right fonts for your flyer is to factor in readability, style, and personality. I will be pairing rounded sans serifs and script fonts for this Oktoberfest invitation. We will be going for a fun and festive look in our Oktoberfest graphic.
Step 1
Create a New Color Swatch using C0 M100 Y100 K44. Grab the Type Tool (T) and type out the word 'Oktoberfest' using Bernard Wacker.
Step 2
With the Oktoberfest text frame still selected, change the Rotation Angle and Shear X Angle to 5° in the top toolbar.
Step 3
Add another text frame on top using Blang Yellow, Black swatch, and 21 pt font.
Step 4
Grab the Pen Tool (P) and make a curved path on the right side of the page. Make sure your Fill and Stroke are set to None in the Swatches panel.
Step 5
Select the Type on a Path Tool (Shift-T) and hover over the left side of the path until a + sign appears. Click on the path and type the month for the Oktoberfest event using Bernard Wacker 25 pt.
Step 6
Continue using the fonts Blang Yellow and Bernard Wacker to fill out the rest of the information for your Oktoberfest invitation template.
3. How to Make an Oktoberfest Template
The best way to make your flyer one-of-a-kind is to add some Oktoberfest graphics. Whether you're designing a poster, flyer, or Oktoberfest invitation template, festival-themed graphics will add that extra bit of excitement and energy to your design.
Step 1
Open the Beer glass3.psd file from the Beer Illustrations folder. Change the document to CMYK (Image > Mode > CMYK Color). Save this file as a TIFF on your desktop.
Step 2
File > Place this beer illustration in the middle of your Oktoberfest flyer.
Step 3
Add more Oktoberfest graphics from the folder, like hops, leaves, and malt grass.
Step 4
Open the Line and Arrow Decoration files and add dividers to make the Oktoberfest design appear more organized.
Step 5
Open handbadges03.ai from the Vintage Badges file. Copy (Command-C) and Paste (Command-V) the first badge into the Oktoberfest invitation. Change the color to Paper in the Swatches panel.
Step 6
Use the Ellipse Frame Tool and the Type on a Path Tool (Shift-T) to type out the "voted" information.
