In this tutorial, we'll learn how to make a triangle in Affinity Publisher. Whether you'd like to know how to make a right triangle in Affinity Publisher or a different type of triangle, this tutorial will work for you.
How to Draw a Triangle in Affinity Publisher
Step 1
There are a few ways to make a triangle in Affinity Publisher. One of the simplest methods is to use the included shape tools.
By default, you might see the Rectangle Tool visible in your Tools panel. Click and hold on the Rectangle Tool to expand your shape tool and see all of the available shapes. In this list, you'll see the Triangle Tool.
Select the Triangle Tool from this list to begin.
Step 2
Next, with the Triangle Tool selected, click and drag to draw your triangle. Affinity Publisher makes this process really simple—you've just figured out the basics of how to draw a triangle in Affinity Publisher!
Once you've drawn your triangle, Affinity Publisher allows us to further resize and adjust it via the shape's nodes, which appear around the shape when it is active and selected. Just click and drag on them to resize or rotate your triangle.
Step 3
But what if you want a different triangle? Maybe you want to know how to make a right triangle in Affinity Publisher or a triangle with really varied dimensions. Luckily, Affinity Publisher makes that easy for us too.
Begin by selecting the Pen Tool in your Tools panel.
Step 4
Each time you click with the Pen Tool active, Affinity Publisher will create a new node. These are like points. Click three times to create a triangular shape like the one shown below.
This allows us to create a custom triangle, with any dimensions you prefer.
Step 5
But what if you don't want to use your triangle as a shape? You can also use custom shapes as a text frame to hold text or as a picture frame to hold an image. This opens up all kinds of different possibilities for our work.
With your shape selected, right-click on PC or Control-click on Mac. From the options available, choose either Convert to Text Frame or Convert to Picture Frame. Then, the shape will take on whichever function you prefer.
