Stickers are a cool CapCut feature that makes every video more fun. With stickers, you can add GIFs, emojis, icons, and more. It’s a fun and easy way to make your videos more exciting. You’ll often see these in trending, viral TikTok videos, for example.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to quickly add stickers to your CapCut videos. It only takes a few quick steps.
Why add stickers to your CapCut videos?
Stickers are easy to add in CapCut. But what are the benefits? There are many advantages to this quick edit. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to make your CapCut videos stand out from the crowd.
Consider these benefits:
- They’re fun and entertaining. Trying to keep your audience entertained? Stickers are a fun way to do it. They’re cool effects that easily overlay on your video clips.
- Stickers made videos more interesting. Sometimes, videos can get a little dull. Stickers offer up a dose of pizazz. Used selectively, they can be great teaching tools, eye-catching visuals, and more.
- You can use them to call attention to key details. A sticker onscreen grabs the eye of a viewer. Position them near key details in your videos to make sure your audiences notice just what you want them to see.
It’s easy to see the advantages of adding stickers in CapCut! Now, let’s learn how to do it - step by step.
How to add stickers in CapCut (step by step)
CapCut works on a variety of devices. For this tutorial, I’ll demonstrate using an iPhone. You can also download CapCut from the Google Play Store, if you use an Android device. Plus, CapCut offers desktop versions for Mac and Windows as well.
As we work, you’ll see a stock video clip in the background. I sourced the beautiful footage from Envato Elements. You can download it here if you want to follow along.
1. Launch the Stickers menu
When you edit in CapCut, video files are grouped into what are called projects. A project contains all the multimedia that you’ll use to create a video. Plus, inside a project, you’ll find the menus and effects that let you make cool edits. Among these are stickers, so let’s explore how to find them.
With a video project open, take a look at your CapCut screen. Front and center is your video preview. It’s here that you can see edits and effects appear in real time. Below the preview is the Timeline. It’s the filmstrip where you can move through your clip frame by frame. By moving across the Timeline, you can choose exactly where to place your stickers.
And finally, at the bottom, is the CapCut toolbar menu. You’ll see many options here: Edit, Audio, Text, Effects, and more. Scroll to the right and find Stickers. Tap it to open the Stickers menu.
2. Explore and add cool stickers to a video
The Stickers menu is now open in CapCut. You can use this to explore the huge library of included stickers. They’re grouped into categories, organized by the buttons across the top. New AI options are available on the left. With these, you can create your own custom stickers.
Adjacent to the AI stickers are emojis, denoted by the smiley face icon. HOT features trending GIFs, many of which you’ll likely recognize. And scrolling to the right, you can choose from a seemingly endless list of animated icons, logos, and graphics.
Searching for something specific? Just above the categories is a search box. Here, you can type in keywords. For example, if you type Checkmark, you’ll get a lengthy list of checkmark stickers to choose from.
Find one you like? Tap on its thumbnail icon. You’ll see it appear on the video preview! Just like that, you’ve learned how to add stickers in CapCut videos quickly.
3. Position the stickers on the video canvas
You can add more than one sticker to a given video at once. You’re only limited by space! Once you’re finished adding stickers, close the Stickers menu. You can now customize how the sticker fits on your video canvas.
Press and drag on a sticker to move it around a video canvas. When you have it selected, you can also resize it. Simply pull on the boxes found in each corner.
Similarly, you can rotate stickers. There’s no reason they have to be perfectly vertical! In fact, adding a bit of rotation often makes them more fun.
On the Timeline, you can control how long your sticker displays. And you can specify where in the video it appears. Stickers appear as yellow bars. Pull on the ends to change the length. Drag the box left or right to move it into a new position in your video.
