Recently, I have been testing out several apps to see their UX in order to inform my decision to choose a new stack for indie development.
In my country, several big companies have been adopting Flutter for their mobile apps.
Today I was using a drugstore app in my wife's phone, and she said it was remade recently, and she liked it, so I checked it on LibChecker to see the stack of the app, and I was surprised to see it was made with Flutter.
This isn't the first time I've been impressed by an app, only to discover it was built with Flutter. It happened repeatedly over the past few weeks.
I tested this drugstore app on several devices, including both Android and iOS, and even on an older Android device, it performed really well!
So I would like to sincerely congratulate the Flutter team and community that are building great apps with it! 🎉
Personally, as a developer, I do not like the way Flutter API was created (hence the "outsider" in the title of the article). For me, the UI code quickly becomes very nested, so for my indie dev endeavor, initially I am not considering Flutter this time (although I did a Flutter course from Andrea some years ago).
But the beauty is: if for other people's "taste" the syntax is OK, I am really happy to see this ecosystem can help devs to create great apps that are good to use and are helping people with their live.
Thanks and good luck to you all in your Flutter journey 🍀
