Here at Freedom Scientific, we have renamed the month of November to Sharkvember, a month-long celebration of accessibility, creativity, and community. Visit the Sharkvember page for a list of events that will take place during the entire month of Sharkvember.
As part of Sharkvember, we are providing JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion keyboard command tips, which we are calling “Sharkvember Shortcuts.” Visit the Sharkvember Shortcuts page each week day for a new tip.
Each Friday, we will provide a roundup of shortcuts for the week right here on the blog. Here are the Sharkvember Shortcuts for this week.
Sharkvember Keyboard Command of the Day
Nov 1: JAWS Command
Open FSCompanion
| Desktop keystroke | Laptop keystroke | Description |
| INSERT+SPACEBAR, F1 | CAPS LOCK+SPACEBAR, F1 | Opens FSCompanion, the new AI tool for learning how to use JAWS and other applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. |
Nov 4: ZoomText Command
Open the Quick Access Toolbar
| Keystroke | Description |
| CAPS LOCK+RIGHT MOUSE CLICK | The Quick Access Toolbar in ZoomText allows you to place up to eight shortcuts to your favorite commands in one location. This command opens the Quick Access Toolbar so you may easily access them. |
Nov 5: JAWS Command
Open Call Dialog
| Desktop keystroke | Laptop keystroke | Description |
| ALT+WINDOWS+C | ALT+WINDOWS+C | Opens a dialog for quickly responding to an incoming call from Teams, Phone Link, or Skype. |
Nov 6: Fusion Command
Restore Factory Default Settings
| Keystroke | Description |
| ALT+F, C, F | Restores the settings to factory default in Fusion. |
Nov 7: JAWS Command
Announce the Time Including Seconds
| Desktop keystroke | Laptop keystroke | Description |
| CTRL+INSERT+F12 | CTRL+CAPS LOCK+F12 | Announces the time in hours, minutes, and seconds. |
Nov 8: ZoomText Command
Close ZoomText
| keystroke | Description |
| CAPS LOCK+F4 | Closes ZoomText and returns the screen to its normal (unmagnified) state and stops ZoomText’s speech output. |
