🎮 The Toughest Decision I’ve Had to Make
Gaming has been more than just a hobby for me—it’s been a huge part of my identity. I’ve spent years immersed in different worlds, playing for hours on end, meeting incredible people, and creating unforgettable memories. It was my escape from stress, from reality, from everything that felt overwhelming. No matter what was happening in my life, gaming was always there—a comfort, a safe space.
Some of the best friendships I’ve ever made came through gaming. I’ve laughed, struggled, competed, and bonded with people across the world, people I would have never met otherwise. That’s what makes this so incredibly difficult. The idea of walking away from something that has shaped so much of who I am is emotional, and honestly, it hurts.
But as much as I love gaming, I’ve had to face a hard truth—it’s been holding me back. Without realizing it, I let it take priority over things that truly shape my future. Instead of focusing on my studies, I’d just hop into another match. Instead of building skills that would push me forward, I’d grind for achievements that didn’t really mean anything outside of the game. Looking back, I feel like I’ve sabotaged a big part of my education because of it. And that’s why I know this change is necessary.
📚 Time for a Change
I’ve made the decision to quit gaming entirely. It’s one of the hardest choices I’ve ever had to make, but I know it’s for the best. Instead of spending hours gaming, I want to put my energy into things that will truly move me forward:
- Focusing on my education
- Building side projects and sharpening my technical skills
- Setting myself up for a strong career in the tech industry
🚀 What’s Next?
I want to be more intentional with my time—focusing on learning, building, and growing in the tech field. That means diving deeper into technology, working on meaningful projects, and fully embracing my university journey. Quitting gaming isn’t just about letting go of a hobby; it’s about reclaiming my time, staying disciplined, and making sure I’m on the right path toward my future.
To everyone I’ve met through gaming—you mean the world to me. I love and cherish every single person I’ve crossed paths with. You’ve made my gaming years some of the best of my life, and I’ll always be grateful for that. This isn’t a goodbye—it’s just a shift in focus. I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I hope you all continue to chase your own dreams too. 💙
