Well it's been a while since I had just one moment to breathe and actually figure out where I am in the grand learnings. Like I say in the title I only have two papers and three assessments to go in my Diploma Of Software Development. I still wonder sometimes just where this piece of paper will let me go and how I will apply the knowledge I have gained.
Sometimes (in fact a lot of the time) I feel I may be missing something because I don't really feel like I know what I am doing unless someone guides me through it. Does anyone else have that problem? or is it just me?
Recently one of my assessments was to create a proposal for a program and then for the second part build the program and present it to the stake holders of the company. Now I had no idea what I was supposed to create and ended up jumping onto a Python tutorial website and selecting a program from there. Basically I just followed it step by step and then used another tutorial to add something else to the original. Now the proposal passed and the program works the way it should, So why do I feel like such a fraud? Do all new developers go through this? At any rate I am working with a team and we will be doing things like making it look pretty with a new UI/UX etc.
I just wanted to put this in writing as it were to get it off my chest and see if anyone else has gone through feeling this way as they try and progress though becoming a developer. I for one think that it gets better but I wonder just how long it's supposed to take.
Take Care Everyone.
Matt
