What is an Azure Region?
An Azure region is like a big campus where Microsoft builds large buildings called data centers. These data centers are filled with powerful computers that store and process information for all kinds of apps and services. They're spread all over the world, so no matter where you are, there's probably an Azure region nearby. This helps apps run faster and keeps your data safe by storing it in places that follow local rules about privacy and security.
What is an Availability Zone?
An Availability Zone as a separate building in the same neighborhood where your data lives. Each building (or zone) is built with its own power and internet connections. If something happens in one building, like a power outage, your data and apps can keep running smoothly from another building nearby. It's like having a backup plan in case something goes wrong, ensuring your stuff stays safe and available.
