\ When we think of sci-fi, we often picture bleak, dystopian futures—worlds where humanity is fighting for survival in apocalyptic wastelands.
\
Films like The Matrix, Mad Max, and Blade Runner have defined this genre for decades, painting a dark picture of what’s to come. But what if sci-fi didn’t have to be a prophecy of doom? What if, instead, it could offer hope, creativity, and a vision of a better future?
\ That's where Artisans of Time comes in.
\ My name is Akasha, and I’ve written Artisans of Time—a regenerative sci-fi script that breaks free from the apocalyptic narrative and presents a utopian world of technological and creative abundance. This project isn't just a story about the future—it's a mission to show the power of women, innovation, and imagination in shaping a brighter tomorrow.
\ I believe you can still include classic Hero's Journey or Save the Cat elements—like the call to adventure, meeting the mentor, and crossing the threshold—without relying on the standard "man battles apocalyptic future" setting. There's plenty of room to explore personal growth, challenges, and transformation in more hopeful and regenerative worlds.
A New Model of Storytelling
As someone with a degree in creative writing, and a background in human rights, ancient cultures, emerging tech, regenerative farming and biodiversity, as well as being a bit on the weird side, I’ve always been passionate about stories that challenge societal norms and offer fresh perspectives.
\ With Artisans of Time, my goal is to create a new model of filmmaking—one that isn’t centered around fear, destruction, or dystopia.
\
\ Instead, we’re building a future where technology is used for good, where creativity thrives, and where we’re inspired by the possibilities of what humanity can achieve.
\ Hey, because isn’t sci-fi the template for imagining the future? Just look at Jules Verne predicting submarines and video calls! So why can’t we imagine a rich and abundant future where there's enough for everyone, freedom to explore our creativity, and a thriving, abundant natural world?
\ The film’s protagonist, Emma, is a hardware artist—a creator in a world where technological invention is restricted to an elite class.
\ Her struggle for recognition mirrors the challenges faced by women in STEM fields today, fighting for equality, respect, and opportunities to contribute. Emma’s journey is about much more than rebellion—it’s about democratizing technology and envisioning a future where innovation benefits everyone, not just the privileged few.

Recognition and Support
Since completing the script, Artisans of Time has already garnered attention, earning a Merit Award at the Big Apple Film Festival. But that’s just the beginning. As part of Artizen Fund Season 4, we’ve also been accepted into several key funds and initiatives that support groundbreaking projects like this:
Commons Fund for public goods pioneers

Expanding Into Immersive Worlds
But Artisans of Time is more than just a film—it’s the start of something bigger. With a background in web3 game marketing and development, my vision is to expand this story into an immersive world where people can engage, create, and make an impact.
\ Imagine a game where players are rewarded for taking real-world positive environmental actions and can interact with their own regenerative AI chatbot coach. But it doesn't stop there—Artisans of Time could also include AR/VR elements, where you look at your current city and imagine it transformed into the utopian world of Artisans of Time, filled with trees, plants, and clean energy solutions.
\ Artisans of Time lends itself perfectly to game development and immersive storytelling. It’s a world where the audience doesn’t just watch the story unfold—they participate in shaping the narrative and envision a regenerative future.
\
\
A Unique Look Inspired by Imagination
I grew up in an era filled with Fraggle Rock, The Labyrinth, and the magical worlds of Jim Henson, and I’d love the opportunity to bring those rich, bohemian, real-life textures into an immersive world. (One day, I may even grow up and marry my very own Kermit the Frog! 🐸💍)
\ Visually, Artisans of Time is something truly special. I’ve developed a 3D storytelling world that is diverse, inclusive, and technologically advanced, but still deeply human and artistic.
\ The look and feel of the world draw inspiration from the imaginative worlds I grew up loving and being inspired by. It’s detailed, immersive, and full of life, offering a space where every element of the world contributes to the broader narrative.
\
\
Why Now?
We live in a time when the stories we tell have a profound impact on the way we view the future.
\ Sci-fi has always been a space where we explore possibilities, but too often those possibilities are dark and dystopian. With Artisans of Time, I want to shift the narrative toward something more positive—something that inspires us to think creatively, innovate, and build a world that benefits everyone. Isn’t that the reason why we are in web3 anyway?
\ I believe that regenerative storytelling can inspire real-world change. By creating a story that highlights the importance of inclusion, creativity, and sustainability, we can encourage people to think differently about the future.
\
